Thank you for reporting the issue to the City of Bridgeport, of more than four non-related Sacred Heart students residing at the mentioned address. Please know that the information was emailed to the city's Zoning office for an investigation to be done.
Another absentee landlord in the north end getting away with housing more than four unrelated people and the mayors office, the police department in the Housing Authority in Bridgeport do nothing about it. Who is protecting the tax paying citizens that actually have to live in the north end of Bridgeport? There is an election coming up north end taxpayers – remember all this.
Hellen Keller - This landlord more than likely renovated this house and pulled all necessary permits. In fact, he increased his own taxes! By doing so he increased the overall value Of the Houses in the neighborhood. Those students are spending money and supporting local business more than any fixed income household in the north end. A reason why the value of whatever home you own in the north end has increased, is in part because this landlord has made an investment in his community.
Understand how the math works out before making emotional statements like this.
The landlord can pull whatever they want. Rental houses are not allowed to have more than four unrelated individuals renting a home. Does not give them the right to violate the law. And my guess is most of the students are supporting businesses in Fairfield, not Bridgeport.
I highly doubt the investor pulled the necessary permits to renovate. We see this across the north end where the tax basis is much less for rooms than what is advertised for rental. No enforcement by the city is the problem. Time to elect a new mayor.
